Frequently Asked Questions

Availability

What is your availability?

I see clients on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. During our phone consultation I will share the specific days and times I have open in my schedule. Clients are given a weekly standing appointment.

Counseling

What is your approach to counseling?

I use an integrative approach to counseling that draws from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Brainspotting. I also incorporate techniques from other models and expressive and somatic practices. IFS, ACT, and Brainspotting are all evidence-based models that are highly effective in addressing anxiety, depression, trauma, and many other issues. By integrating them, I am able to tailor my approach to best fit your needs and preferences and provide you with a positive and effective therapy experience.

What can I expect in my first session?

During our first session we will go over the necessary paperwork including confidentiality and informed consent, and I will answer any questions you have. Most of the session will be focused on you- what brought you to counseling, your concerns and what you’d like to focus on, and what you would like to get out of counseling.

What will we do in sessions?

It is hard to say exactly what we will do in a session, because what each person needs and wants from counseling is different. Most often, we will spend the session talking together. I will guide the session by asking questions, but it is also up to you what we focus on. My approach, and thus what we do in session, will vary based on your needs and goals and will be tailored to you.

How many sessions do I need?

Each person’s process of growth and healing is different. The number of sessions you need will depend on a variety of factors including the concerns you want to address and goals you want to achieve.

Fees and Payment

What are your fees?

My fee is $160 per 50 minute session.

I have a limited number of sliding scale spots available. If this would be helpful to you, please reach out and let me know.

Do you accept insurance?

I do not accept insurance. I can provide you with a receipt of services (superbill) that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Check with your insurance company to learn more about your benefits.
